FuzziBunz originally started in 1998 by a young mother trying to design a modern cloth diaper for her son. In recent years, Rov Couvillion, a design engineer and grandfather of nine, was introduced to FuzziBunz as their manufacturing and design manager; he saw a need to redesign FuzziBunz OS diaper and start fresh. He teamed up with business partners to create CRG, LLC who purchased FuzziBunz and in August 2014 they relaunched the FuzziBunz One Size cloth diaper.
The FuzziBunz One Size Pocket Diaper was redesigned in 2014 to achieve a better fit and performance.
The one size diapers now come in two sizes – a larger diaper designed to fit best if your child is 10-40 pounds and in the 75th percentile or above on the pediatric growth charts (if you think he/she will stay in that range). The small size is designed to fit infants 7-30 pounds who are 0-75th percentile on the pediatric growth chart. The larger one size will fit smaller babies, but the smaller size will have a more trim fit. Here are some photos to show the size difference. The green diaper is the small and the blue diaper is the large.
The redesigned diapers have adjustable waist and leg bands, a luxurious soft PUL (it is the silkiest/softest PUL that I have ever felt), and a stay dry and stain resistant inner liner of polar fleece. New developments include heavier stitching in critical areas such as along the back elastic casing, woven fabric to reinforce the snaps (this is hidden inside the diaper between the inner and outer fabrics), extra snaps across the front panel of the diaper, and a fold over snap for extra adjustment on small children.

Fuzzibunz One Size diapers only come with snap closures. Because of their internal adjustability they do not need rise snaps!
My Review and Star Ratings:
I love the contoured design of the insert. It fits great inside the diaper and provides extra protection in the back where my daughter needs it. For day time use we have had very few leak and the ones we have had are my fault because I forgot to change her diaper or didn’t have the diaper adjusted correctly. I wish the diaper was a little more absorbent; however I’m sure the super trim fit would be compromised if the diaper was more absorbent.
I asked about double stuffing the diapers and this was the reply that I received from the designer: “I do not recommend double-stuffing the OS diapers. The one exception is for night-time use with heavy wetters. All of the consumer feedback and testing experience is that the diapers perform superbly with one insert. While double-stuffing will increase the amount of liquid the diaper will absorb, it also changes the fit and the geometry of the diaper. This is not so significant with a sleeping baby. However, double-stuffing for an active child or a child in a car seat (compression leaks) will probably cause the diaper to leak.”
This diaper does not work for either of my children at night, even when stuffed with both inserts. They both are super heavy wetters and I do not like changing bums in the middle of the night unless it is an emergency.
Fit and Size
My baby is 13 pounds (50th percentile) and 24 inches tall (76th percentile). My toddler is 29 pounds (10th percentile) and 39 inches tall (50th percentile). The small OS fits both children and has a nice very trim fit; the small OS looks best under clothing on both my children. The OS large also fits both of my children but is bulky through the bum area (see Fitting Your Fluff photos).
The new Fuzzibunz OS diapers are not thick or bulky. They fit under clothing very well because of how squishy they are. I like that they come in two different sizes so they will fit a wider range of children.
I like the colors that the diaper comes in. I think they are bright and cheerful. I do wish that there were a few more girly colors available (maybe pink, red, purple, etc).
I really like that many of the seams on the FuzziBunz OS diapers are double stitched. The sewing looks really nice and the diaper is very well made. It feels and looks like a sturdy diaper that will hold up over time. So far it still looks brand new after a couple of months of use. I’ll update this review if we have any issues in the future.
The FuzziBunz One Size Pocket diaper with one insert retails for $19.95 (as of 10/28/14). They do come with a 90 day money back guarantee (please see their website for more info).
Overall we have enjoyed these diapers. They are great as a day time diaper. Tthey fit good, are made very well, are super adjustable, and one diaper fits both my baby and my toddler. I do wish that there was a natural fiber option for the inserts as I prefer them over microfiber.
I received the above mentioned diaper from FuzziBunz to facilitate this review. This did not affect my opinions. All opinions are 100% my own.
