Awesome Blossom Diapers is a WAHM operated cloth diaper company based in the US. Their diaper are fairly made in China.
Awesome Blossom sent me a one size pocket diaper in “Fantastic Yellow” to review. The diaper has a soft microfleece inner and a cute PUL outer. Each pocket diaper comes with one 3 layer microfiber insert; additional inserts can be purchased separately.
It closes with snaps and has an upper and lower layer of snaps for extra adjustability around the waist and thighs. It also has cross over snaps to fit extra small babies. The diaper is designed to fit babies from 9 to 35 pounds.
Awesome Blossom also sent me a wetbag to review. This wetbag measures approximately 11.5”x15”. It has two pockets with zipper closures and a hanging loop.
My Review and Star Ratings (The Diaper)
Absorbency - For Daytime Use (as purchased)
Absorbency - For Nighttime Use (as purchased)
The diaper comes with one three layer microfiber insert. One insert works well for my two month old during the day and for my my toddler during naps (he only has occasional accidents during nap time though). With only one insert, this diaper does not work for night time use with either child (but I wasn’t expecting it to handle night time use). Awesome Blossom sent me an extra insert, and when we use the extra insert we can get by with just minimum leaks during night time with my two month old - but only if I put it on her right before she goes to bed and change her diaper the second she wakes up. Even an extra insert does not get the job done with my toddler though.
The diaper fits my 26 (ish) pound thin toddler very well. Because of the double layer of snaps, I get a great fit around his legs and his belly every time. The diaper fits on my 15 pound two month old as well, however it is a little big around the bum for her. But it holds the mess in, and that is what matters! It is wider between the legs than what I usually prefer with either child but since the insert is super squishy and movable, it doesn’t seem to bother either one of them.
The diaper is not thick when using just one insert. It is a little wide between the legs, but neither child seems to mind.
Awesome Blossom has cute diaper designs. Here are some of their other diaper prints:
I haven’t had any issues with the sewing of the diaper or the inserts. The PUL still looks brand new and the snaps still work great after using it and washing it for the past few months.
As of 9/22/14 the retail price for Awesome Blossom One Size diaper with one microfiber insert in Yellow Sunburst is $22.99. Other prints are the same price and solid colors are $19.99. Personally, I think this is a little more than I would like to spend on a basic pocket diaper that only comes with one microfiber insert, that is made in China, and doesn’t have any unique features. However, it does work and fit well.
Overall (The Diaper)
This diaper works well, is cute, and fits both of my children. It is a little more than I would want to spend on this type of diaper and I wish the inserts came in a different fabric options besides just microfiber. We have super hard water and it is hard for my front loading washing machine to get all the odors out of microfiber. I like that the diaper looks brand new after a few months usage
My Review and Star Ratings (The Wetbag)
The wetbag retails at $22.99. This seems about average compared to most wetbags that I have seen. I have seen some cheaper and some more expensive.
The wetbag works great! I use it for diapers, mama cloth, wet clothing, and for our swimsuits when we go swimming. I love the size – I can fit a few cloth diaper in it and I love that it has two pockets. I usually use one pocket for wet/dirty diapers and the other pocket for wipes/clean diapers and mama cloth. I do have to put the wipe in a plastic baggie or else after a couple of weeks they dry out.
Check out Awesome Blossom
