{review} Magickal Bottom's OS Cover

This is the third product that I've gotten to review for Magickal Bottom’s. Magickal Bottom’s is owned by a WAHM, Trisha, from Indiana. The more Magickal Bottom’s products that I try, the more I love her stuff (You can read my review on her hybrid fitted diaper here and my review on her AI2 diaper here. I think everyone should try at least one of her diapers – it will truly convert you to WAHM products (if you haven’t already been converted)!

The Diaper

This time I got to try out a OS cover from Magickal Bottom’s. It is made out of a soft stretchy PUL fabric and has lots of features including:

*snap closures*
*wing snaps to prevent wing droop and give a better fit*
*adjustable rise snaps*

*the rise snaps are reinforced with a double layer of PUL so the PUL will last longer*
*the cover has an awesome double layer on the tummy panel so that the snaps don’t touch baby’s belly*
*it also has a double layer of PUL on the back which helps prevent leaks*

*the double layer panels on the front and back also help hold the inserts in place* NOTE: this insert did not come with the cover.

My Review and Star Ratings:
Leak Prevention
We have been using this cover for night time use with my toddler son over hybrid fitted diapers and diaper inserts. We actually have never had a leak using this cover! That deserves a 5 star rating in my book!

Fit and Size (On Toddler)
My toddler currently weighs about 25 pounds and is about 36 inches tall. This OS cover fits him very well. We don't have any leg, back, or tummy gaps because the fit is so adjustable. Since we usually wear the cover over bulky hybrid fitteds, we usually just leave the rise on the highest setting. However, when we tested it using diaper inserts, we did snap down the rise to get a better fit. It is a large cover, but it is meant to cover hybrid fitted diapers which are larger in size than most regular cloth diaper inserts. The hybrid fitted diaper that the cover is over in the picture below is very big and bulky, even though it doesn't look like it fits that well, (you can see some of the hybrid fitted sticking out around the belly and the legs), we still don't have any leaks when using this combination.

As you can see, my toddler still has lots of growing room using this cover so I'm sure it will fit him for a while and will also fit bigger babies.

I am excited to try it out with our new baby (who should be here in the next 4 or 5 weeks) as she grows to see how it fits different sized children.

Aesthetic Design
This cover is super cute! I love how soft the PUL is how the lime green snaps contrast with the blue swirl pattern of the fabric.

Price
At $15 this is an affordable cover. It is cheaper than some brand name covers/hybrid covers and is about the same price as a lot of China made covers that I've seen. I appreciate that it is made by a WAHM and supports a family.

Overall
I love this cover. I love how it fits, I love how cute it is, I love all the features. Trisha put a lot of work into designing and creating her covers and I can definitely tell. It is well made and has high quality fabric; we've been using this cover for a while and it still looks brand new. We've never had any leaks with it. It does its job, looks great, and is affordable.  I would definitely purchase one with my own money (especially if it were on sale!)

  2. What adorable diaper covers those are. When my boys were in diapers, I used disposables and they were so boring.
