Magickal Bottom’s provided me with this diaper for review purposes.
Trisha’s journey to become a WAHM started a year and a half ago when she made all her son’s diapers. She loved making them so much that she ended up with way more diapers than she needed for her son; so her husband suggested she sell some. Magickal Bottom diapers are compliant. Trisha makes cloth diapers, wet bags, children’s clothing, and hand dyed products. Her favorite materials to work with are cotton, organic bamboo fleece, PUL, minky, and organic bamboo. She also loves to hand tie-dye fabrics. Her goal is to offer products at a reasonable cost so everyday family’s can afford them.
About The Diaper
Magickal Bottom’s sent me an All In Two (AI2) to review. It is made with a cute PUL outer, a cotton velour inner, a snap in snake like insert made out of super heavy organic bamboo fleece topped with cotton velour, and a booster insert.
Sizing and Closures
The diaper is one size and should fit a smaller baby and a larger toddler. It is adjustable by using two rise snaps on the front of the diaper. The wings have crossover snaps to ensure a great fit on smaller babies. My 25 lb toddler wears it on the second smallest setting so there is plenty of room for larger babies as well. The diaper closes using snaps (but is available in hook and loop as well).
My Review and Star Ratings
Absorbency (Night Time Use)
We have been using this diaper on my toddler at night, I have been folding the snake like insert in half and using the booster and so far we have only had a few minor wicking dampness but never any leaks. I think this diaper works good for night time use - it is not completely leak proof like a fitted and cover would be, but it does a very good job for our needs. I think this will be an excellent nap time and day time diaper.
Water Test: I poured water on the diaper towards the front tummy panel. The insert was folded in half and the extra booster was behind the insert. The diaper held just over ¾ cup of water before it was completely saturated in that one spot. That is a lot of water!
Fit and Size
I love the fit of the AI2 diaper on my 25 lb 36 inch tall toddler. It is slim between the legs (and should fit a smaller baby great) but not so slim that it won’t fit a bigger baby. The diaper fits him best on the medium rise setting so there is plenty of growth room and it should continue to fit him for a long time. The elastic is tight and fits snugly around his legs and we don’t have any leg gaps. I am excited to try this diaper on our new baby in July to see how it fits her throughout her growth.
Magickal Bottom’s AI2 is not a thick diaper for how much absorbency it has. It is slim and trim and fits well under clothing on our 25 lb 36 inch tall toddler. Even with the booster at night it still fits well under my toddler’s PJ’s.
I love the Ooga Booga print that Trisha sent us. The snaps coordinate well and add a great finished look to the diaper. The inside cotton velour matches great. I think this is a super cute diaper! She has tons of cute PUL fabric in stock as well. Here are a few listed on her Facebook page.
At $20, this AI2 diaper is affordable.
I really love this diaper. It fits well, it is absorbent, the fabric has stayed soft even after being lined dried, the construction is high quality and so are the fabrics that were used; the fabric does not hold odors. All of the snaps work great and the elastic is tight. My son loves it and he has never complained about it not fitting or being too tight. I would definitely purchase this diaper with my own money. I am looking forward to trying it out on our new baby once she is here (and updating this review).
